To do our research, we need blood donations of healthy participants and of patients with sickle cell anemia and Diamond-Blackfan anemia syndrome. A blood donation is done through a conventional blood draw. The blood cells from the donated blood are then subjected to quality controls in the lab. After that, a specific cell type will be isolated from the donated blood and used for subsequent steps in the research project.
